Designed for rapid, controlled sample cooling of cryotubes in the freezer. Lid and tube holder material are HDPE, with foam insert. Frosty-Box-18 provides the critical, repeatable cooling rate of approximately 1°C/minute for successful cryopreservation and optimal cell yield. The container is simply filled with isopropanol up to the visible filling limit. The samples are not in contact with the liquid, as the insert ensures a safe separation between the alcohol and the sample tubes, thus preserving labels etc. When the samples are removed from the freezer, the insulation of the foam holder causes a prolongation of the warm-up time and thus a longer working time for 8 x 1.2 to 2.0 ml Cryotubes.
