Polystyrene beads are monodisperse particles from polystyrene, substituted polystyrenes, polystyrene-co-polymers, polymethacrylate derivatives or cross-linked polymers. They are provided as standard products in the size range of 200 nm to 100 microns

PLA-Beads consist of poly(D,L-lactic acid, medical grade) with a molecular weight of 17.000 Dalton. They are available with diameters of 250 nm and 500 nm in small size distributions and with mean diameters of 2 µm, 30 µm and 100 µm in broader size distributions. These PLA-beadscan be applied in the field of drug encapsulation in connection with a controlled drug release.

Fluorecent Silica Beads in powder form contain a high amount of covalently bound fluorescence dye in the silica matrix and are extremely stable in organic solvents and buffers (No toxic effects come from the covalently bound fluorescence dyes.) are available with red fluorescence (silica fluo-red, excitation: 569 nm, emission: 585 nm), green fluorescence (silica fluo-green, excitation: 485 nm, emission: 510 nm) and blue fluorescence (silica fluo-blue, excitation: 354 nm, emission: 450 nm).

Silica beads- powder are available in the size range of 300 nm to 1.5 µm with a density of 2.0 g/cm³ as monodisperse and nonporous particles. They have broader size distributions in the area of the porous silica particles with adjusted diameters between 3 and 20 microns and a density of 1.8 g/cm³.
